Sapporo + Day Trips
Smelt Fishing and Tsukigata Hot Springs Winter Activity Course
Experience the winter wonderland, smelt fishing on the frozen lake, natural hot springs, and Hokkaido soup curry.
This plan provides an easy opportunity to enjoy smelt fishing even if while you are on your trip.
Everything you need, such as winter gear, gloves, and rubber boots. There is also a stove inside the fishing hut, so you can stay warm while you fish!
Food, drinks, and snacks can be brought into the fishing sight too.
First, you have to try your hand at opening a hole in the thick ice!
Visitors can first experience opening a hole with a designated drill, and then fish in the hole you opened!
All the smelt you have caught can be deep-fried on site, which is the best and most delicious way to eat them!
Besides fishing, there is an area for sledding and tube sliding!
Snowmobile rides (extra charge) are also possible.
Once you have finished fishing for smelt, warm up with Hokkaido soup curry in the lunch venue, and relax in the hot springs.
