【Ice-Fishing】 Smelt Fishing Tour
Enjoy the surf smelt fishing on the ice in Hokkaido in winter.
This is the best course to experience the harsh winter of Hokkaido enjoying the ice fishing from January to February.
Shinshinotsu Village is located in the center of Ishikari Field, and it takes you just an hour from Sapporo.
It is a heavy snowfall area and you can see Hokkaido in its true colors.
Enjoy the surf smelt fishing in the special tent site built on the ice at Lake Shinotsu which dams up Ishikari River. You will be surprised that the tent is kept warm with stove and plywood sheeting while it is freezing outside.
As it takes just one minute on foot from the fishing site to Shinshinotsu Hot Spring Tap-no Yu, you can take a bath and rest without worrying about freezing After lunch, you can enjoy fishing to the full until 13:50, 10 minutes before the departure time,
・You can ask a chef to cook the fish you caught at the site.
・The tour bus will come back to Sapporo at 15:00, and this is a perfect deal for those who want to spend a satisfying day-trip in Hokkaido.

※①This includes special tent rental fees, fishing fees, fishing rod rental fees, bait and bags for fish.
Visitors are provided a special tent (windshield) and dig a hole beneath the ice ground. (The staff will dig the hole beforehand.)
Even if the inside of the special tent is kept warm with stove and plywood sheeting, wear warm clothes while ice fishing outside.
After fishing, you can have your fish cooked at Shinshinotsu Hot Spring for lunch. Show the fish you caught at the site and receive a memo from the local staff, which assures the number of fish you caught.
All the deep-fried surf smelts that the participants caught will be served on a large plate. Check the memo with the number of fish you caught and take that number of fish from the large platter.
You may catch other fish by chance. (Japanese dace, carp, and so on: They can’t be cooked.)
Fish will be deep-fried. The cooking charge is included in this tour.
For bait, chironomidae(red worms) are used, and participants must put the bait on the rod themselves.
In some cases, you will not catch a single fish.
As a tent accommodates 3～6 people, you may share it with other participants.
If you want to take the fish home, you need to bring a container.
Although you can fish until 13:50, lunch must be taken between 12:15 - 13:00.
※②Please feel free to rest in the rest area provided.
* Towels are not provided. Face towels sold for ¥200, bath towels sold for ¥500 on-site. (no rentals)
* Meals and bathing fees are included in the tour fare. (Please be sure to bring towels or purchase them on site.)
* Please understand that the bus may have to turn around and cancel the tour in the event of heavy snowfall or snowdrifts that make driving hazardous.
*A boxed lunch has been prepared for lunch.
※The beginning date for this tour may be delayed in mild winters when Lake Shinotsu does not freeze. Also, if the ice begins to melt early due to a mild winter, the tour may end earlier than the scheduled period.
※Tour will be canceled when there is no reservation by 18:00 the day before.
※Duration of the tour may change depending on traffic congestion or the number of passengers.
※Arrival time will be earlier than the scheduled time due to the closed days or limit on tours at each facility.
※Buses may be delayed due to traffic congestion and adverse weather, so please allow ample time for transfer to other means of transportation.
※Tours may be canceled due to the disasters. Please inquire about the operation schedule during adverse weather.

*Application should be done until the noon of the day before the date of use.
*Reservation cannot be processed on Saturdays, Sundays, or public holidays.
- ・If contents of application are not sufficient we would confirm detailed information with you by e-mail..
- ・We confirm whether the facility such as hotel or restaurant can take your reservation or not.
- ・If the reservation cannot be taken because of unavailability we inform you of that.
- ・We send you credit card payment link via e-mail when the reservation is taken.
- ・Guests settle the payment via credit card online paying system.
- ・We send you the voucher after the confirmation of your payment.
- ・You go to the reserved facility on the day and present the voucher.

Closed: Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, end and beginning of the year (Please contact us during consecutive holidays)
Please make reservations between 9:30 - 18:00 from Monday to Friday. We are closed on Sat, Sun, Holidays and the first and last day of the year.
All reservations which aren't made during the service time will not be processed until the next business day. It takes 1-3 business days for us to handle the booking.
